UV Sterilizer | Point-of-Use UV Stage for Vertex Water Coolers

Add an extra layer of protection to your point-of-use (POU) filtration system with an Ultraviolet (UV) sterilizer stage. UV technology is widely used for disinfecting water and is designed to help reduce microorganisms by exposing flowing water to UV energy at 254 nm.

Overview

This UV stage is designed to be used as the final stage on POU filter systems—especially helpful for applications like well water or locations with uncertain chlorination. Water flows around a continuously operating, replaceable UV lamp housed inside a stainless steel tube. The lamp is installed inside a sealed quartz tube (isolated from the water), making lamp replacement straightforward when it reaches end of life.

For effectiveness, water flow is limited to 2 GPM to ensure adequate exposure time. A blue glow is visible through the flow fittings when the lamp is operating, providing a quick visual status check.

Key Features

  • UV wavelength: 254 nm
  • Flow restriction: 2 GPM for effective exposure time
  • Lamp life: 9000 hours (over 1 year) continuous operation
  • Construction: Stainless steel housing with quartz lamp sleeve (sealed from water)
  • Visual indicator: Blue glow visible when operating
  • Power: 14-watt transformer for standard 110V outlet
  • Can be added to new or existing compatible systems

Compatibility

Compatible with many Point-of-Use (POU) filtration and reverse osmosis systems, including Vertex PureWaterMachine configurations. Most models can be fitted with a UV stage.

  • Stand Alone UV Sterilizer (complete unit): UV-4016

What’s Included

The UV-4016 is supplied as a complete UV sterilizer unit and includes the UV lamp and power transformer. Replacement lamps are available separately as UV-4023.

Important Notes

UV sterilization is intended to support water disinfection as part of a properly designed treatment system. Proper installation, correct flow rate, and scheduled lamp replacement are required for best performance.
